Self Help Affinity Group (SHAG):
A Self help Affinity Group is a group of people bound by affinity that must be expressed through unity in action for managing credit, institution building, governance skill and empowerment. The aim and objectives of the SHGs are;
- To quick access to credit to meet loan requirements
- To increase awareness on various local institutions and schemes
- To enhance confidence and skills
- To initiate and implement village development activities
- To support each other as members of a group
- To reduce poverty level in the village
- To increase knowledge of latest technologies
- To establish linkage and networking with other institutions
Community Managed Resource Centre (CMRC):
MYRADA KVK in process of building dynamic local level institutions understands the importance of establishing a resource center managed by the community themselves in catering their own needs and requirements. This Community Managed Resource Centers (CMRC) at present supported by MYRADA KVK will be information dissemination / sharing hub to the farming community appropriate people institutions. The CMRC’s objectives are;
- To ensure that the information needs of local communities are met on a regular and dependable basis.
- To ensure that local communities have access to need-based services on a dependable basis.
- To promote local community development in as many sectors and as many creative ways as ethically and economically feasible.
- To support in functioning of Micro level institutions like SHG , Watershed Associations and Local level institutions etc.
Erode District Organic Farmers Federation (EDOFF):
The main purpose of forming the institution was to share the experiences on organic farming among the farmers and to give emphasis on bringing more number of farmers under organic farming practices. The ultimate vision of the EDOFF is to declare Erode as “Organic District”. The EDOFF’s aims are;
- Capacity building programme for farmers and experience sharing
- Networking with development, technical and financial institutions
- Documentation of organic farming practices, experience and indigenous technical knowledge developed by the organic farmers
- Identification of market source / outlets for organic products
Commodity Groups (CG):
The group of farmers cultivating the particular crop and selling through commodity group by getting reasonable price.
Watershed Development Association (WDA):
It is defined as a group of people depending on the watershed resources (either living or outside it) who have a common interest in developing their watershed and has come together for the integrated development and sustainable management of all natural resources in their watershed.
VVV Club:
Club of farmers or people involved in agriculture & allied activities work together closely with banks to improve their knowledge and resource bases for their sustainable livelihood.
