The soil, water & plant testing laboratory was established in 29th July 2005 as per the norms of Indian Council for Agriculture Research for the benefit of farming community in Erode District. Soil testing is an efficient tool for integrated nutrient management.
Kendra’s Soil, Water and Plant Testing Laboratory are equipped with DESIFER (Decision Support System for Integrated Fertilizers Recommendations) software system. By properly locating it in the new Soil, Water and Plant Testing Laboratory, it will faster the quick analysis of results and help in deriving the recommendations based on integrated nutrient management
Objectives of Soil, Water and Plant Testing Laboratory:
- To create awareness among the farmers about the importance of the soil, water and plant analysis.
- To provide the facilities to make the farmer to test their soil and to know about the fertility status of the soil.
- To follow the correct recommended dose of fertilizers this will reduce the input cost.
- To improve the soil health and sustainability.
To prove the composition of organic matter and other nutrients present in the various organic manure authentically.
